two lovers

two lovers

A Poem by h d e rushin

I love the way there's nothing
you can do about it. Kinda like the
poem you try to write but
scratch the journal so hard you tear
the words beneath it down
like prophecy. Sometimes I
hate the internet. Further evidence
of yourself perhaps being
brave amongst the Alstroemeria colored greens,
the ointment, the weapons
we use to lunge at each other's throats.
How you let the phone ring
three times before my blend of glare and gaze.
They will say of us losers
when they see us together,
that we touched the dampened fingers
of our youth and coughed up
the yellow eyed lacewings of our
souls.

Scratch your eyes out. You want the love so bad. The quiet never comes easy. Sacrifice comes knocking. I love this. So provoking

thank you duff for stopping by to visit .....much appreciated ....dana
this tearing is a good thing? no this tearing is a good thing! you know I'm not sure about this tearing:/ sometimes the scratch reveals something underneath it could be good it could be horrible its a furtive sort of word play:/ but then again we have to go ahead and scratch don't we... the itch never stops until we attend it. i guess we are human after all

Well give her a gentle hug from me:)
Some things just are and you must let them be. And wow this is so good.
The love and turbulence expressed so well. Nice one, D!

Welcome :)
And good morning.
perfect, I don't know how to express my proper appreciation of the love and tender beauty in which you have described a well balanced and weathered relationship, "to change the things we can" like "The Butterfly Effect" and the serenity to not pounce upon the things we can't. Three rings man, you would deny the gratuities satisfaction of three rings? Fine, fine, if you can hop your a*s up faster then you go right ahead at two rings and an inscription of vows upon the souls of mates on an Angels mission in our tired ol' bodies that says you used to do it in one, years and years ago.
