The Depth

The Depth

A Poem by Duke Teager

Tell me it's over
And the sun is setting
compassion hangs a rope
strengthened by hope yet weakened by ignorance

          I hang onto the rope
And not let myself into the depth

The depth where thy sorrow swirl
The depth where my sorrow twirl
                              Where their narcissism breed
To lie imprisoned where no hope to be freed

The Depth deepens
Deepening the depth
"Until the bitter end" they say
And till the end it's a bitter fall

   I hang onto the rope
And not let myself into the depth

Disparity weakens my sight
And long weakened the light
Chained burden gets heavier makes it harder to climb
Voices beneath the depth tells me it's over and it's time

I let go of the rope
And into the depth I let myself to eternal fall...

The depth where thy sorrow swirl
The depth where my sorrow twirl
                    Where their narcissism breed
I lie imprisoned with no hope to be freed
.

I think the majority of the city of Los Angeles fell into the depth with you. At least Hollywood did.
