This video is Rated: EVERYONE

The Little Match Girl (Danish: Den Lille Pige med Svovlstikkerne)

Meaning "The little girl with the matchsticks") is a short story by Danish poet and author Hans Christian Andersen. The story is about a dying child's dreams and hope, and was first published in 1845. It has been adapted to various media including animated film, and a television musical.

David's Dibs:

This is a sad yet satisfying story that should be seen by everyone. We all have our hopes and dreams. This little girl in the flickering light of a single match sees wonderful and beautiful things. But then - she dies ... frozen to death beneath someone's parapace.

Her Grandmama then comes to find her then and taking her wizened hand in her young one they walk towards and fade into the snow, both spirit into the infinite joy of the beyond.

A very beautiful and tearful film that I wholeheartedly recommend in these quiet and cold times. A must watch.

Hans Christian Anderson was a fire storyteller, but he was a Dane. THey tend to see the darker side of life. Must be all that snow.

Maybe. Maybe you should pay more attention to people on street corners...
