Miles From Home

Miles From Home

A Poem by Angie Diane♥♥

I walked away from home,
Well really ran away.
Just because I had no one there,
To love and hold me,
I ran miles from home,
Just to get away from him,
From her,
From everyone that was pushing me.
I didn't want to change,
People told me not to,
I did though.
I still walked away from home.
I'm miles away living with my new friends.
They are trying to keep me from cutting my wrists.
They want me to live with them for a long time.
Now I have people who care since no one cared back at home.
When my wrists were all cut up they cared.
I don't know anymore.
Thank you to the people miles from home.

I was just feeling like I need to run away, but I won't. I don't want to be miles from home because I love my family. I know they care, but they can't always be there.

I can relate to this one as well... even I used walk away from home in my childhood to escape and get away from the chaos. After all a home is where we can turn to for solace, and if thats the place that haunts you, then all one can do is try to go away. I really appreciate the friends that I have now. Great poem.
