Adolescence

"Adolescence" is a quick, short poem about growing up and remembering your past while still moving on toward the future.

Walking slowly up the path of old and new,

A child along the path,

Whispers to me,

Its voice childish yet knowing,

“Do not forget”,

“You can never truly forget” I answered the reflection with a smile,

Walking slowly up the path of old and new,

I found myself in remembrance of the past and wonder of coming days.

Author's Note

This poem may not be the best since I'm not quite used to poetry. Stories may be my forte but I want to broaden my horizons and would appreciate some feedback.
