Disjointed Segments Put TogetherA Poem by eaglepoetAn interesting concept of taking tings you've written in your journal, and putting them all together. Snippets of thoughts, ideas that wouldn't jive before, and making them work in a unique fashion.Disjointed Segments Put TogetherMy pencil is a key of expression. A lever
releasing, what I wish was understood. Pointer guiding direction from darkness to light. The only difference between these two is lanterns that shine, reflect a familiarity, and contentment, while blackness represents pleasant solitude. More than just words on paper, they're dancers of ash, reflecting roots of being. Not artificial by any standard, unbroken truths of will that can't be shattered. Dust of ancestors, that came before me. Letters for who I will become, reminders of perseverance when it seems like odds are stacked against you. Struggles are inevitable. you will have to fight, for aspirations you seek to achieve. Don't cave willingly, to what others around you dictate should be your path. Life is a blessing, mold a destiny you can be proud of. Learning not to overlook finer details, was the start of discovering myself. Abandoning perceptions I held, regarding what I thought was known, simply judging by outward appearances. We must learn to preserve memories of the past, drawing them into the present. What we don't hold, we can't get back. They have long since passed away with time. Don't be consumed, by the green eye of envy. Value what you have, rather than what others have, seeking to build on that. You must have your own set of guiding principles, and not rely on those of others. We can only place judgement on ourselves, and by judging others, we walk the road of being judged even harsher. © 2016 eaglepoetAuthor's Note
