Tiny Hummingbird

Tiny Hummingbird

A Poem by easybreezy
"

A poem about valuing the little things in life.

"

I look out my window

Hoping to catch sight of you

Morning sunlight finds its way to my front porch

Bugs crawl around hunting for food

I pray that you will too

My hand cups my chin

Anticipation mounts as I wait

Hours tick by slowly, still I don’t turn away

I just know you will grant my wish

I will stay all day if I must

You fly in swiftly

Tiny wings flitting furiously

In stationary flight, you drink my crimson gift

Turning my way as if to say thank you

Prior to ducking away

Until tomorrow, tiny hummingbird

Can't help thinking of a humming bird hitching a ride under a goose wing. And they do look at you when you think about them.

Your comment means a lot to me, especially coming from a gifted poet like yourself! :)

haha.. no i am not a gifted poet.. i am just learning.. an ameteur like you :) you write well.
I just read about how you couldn't use the letter 'e', that is TOTALLY awesome! Even before I read about that, I thought this poem was really good. I like how the poem doesn't really reveal what you are searching for in the first two stanzas, only at the end do we know (if we hadn't read the title:) ). There are some good visuals in this as well. Good job!

Yeah real good. That's a cool challenge!
I like this poem very well. My mother has a hummingbird feeder in her yard, and your poem reminded me of many days when I would be on her porch watching the little beauties floating around, drinking that colorful liquid.
