Empathy

Empathy

A Poem by Eddie Davis
"

Shared suffering makes it easier to bear.

"

There is little I can do,

Except perhaps hurt with you,

Empathy in some small way,

When there are no words to say,

It may offer slight relief,

To know someone shares your grief,

When we are joined in feeling,

You’ll find your heart starts healing,

Healing for the heart that’s torn,

Comfort for all those who mourn,

Hope that mending will begin,

And some day you’ll smile again

Ohh, I love those beginning lines. Anyone in grief can be comforted with those genuine words of empathy.

Thank you.
This is a wonderful poem, Eddie. When we give our empathy to others, we provide them comfort at the times of mourning.

When I have problems, I also run to those with wide shoulders to lean on and ears to listen to me when I want to cry. Sharing them my problems lightens the load. The best One to share with is God. All things are possible with Him.

Nice couplets.
