For the voice in your eyes

For the voice in your eyes

A Poem by eglantine

I ache for something spicier
than the north star,
something that speaks
in lullaby's my soul
can cling to.

I wear nothing but flames
and gold lipstick.

Reader, won't you ask me to dance
on the ivory moon with your shadow's shadow?
I am but dust of dust and you, the sunray
that illuminates me,

so peel black lace from my voice,
nail stars to my skin,

kiss me through this sheet of paper.

I am very impressed with this poem Eglantine. First, It's so good to see your words here again...the imagery in this was wow...this poem was like a really f*****g awesome orgasm...my heart is pumping through my stomach right now after reading. The sun has me today, I will certainly be returning to this one. Fantastic!

Merci Elliott!
structure in the first couple stanzas is a little confusing for me, but of course thats just me with structure if anything is slightly different than that of what i use i am sooo confused. beautiful rhetoric as always. i love the third stanza! very well written five stars for you!

every one of your pieces feels like a wonderful dreamscape of a different type-- always wonderful to read and rather enchanting in the imagery. i really love this line:
"I am but dust of dust and you"
that is gold. very effective repetition. great work!

Thank you Dana!
So surreal and enchanting is this cosmic piece today. I feel as though I were sitting upon a constellation as I read this wonderful poem. Possibly my favorite from you my friend.
