The Lonely Room

The Lonely Room

A Poem by Eddie Phillips

It seems way too often that I wait for you alone in this room.

When you arrive, there is euphoria, but it leaves way too soon.
Our passion is a torrent; we ride the waves of our gushing hearts.
I love when you scream into my pillows as we act as ravagers in the dark.
I try hard to hold on to you, but you leave like the escaping tide.
I sit wishing and dreaming about the next time you will arrive.
Yes, it seems I am damned to long for you in this empty room.
Happy your love returns to me, even though it leaves so soon.

Whoa. I am speechless. What a wonderful rhyme scheme going great together with what you want to express. I admire this poem as I can feel the depth of your words.

Sensually romantic and somewhat lonely in context. When Love and Sex collide it is a truly sublime perfection that many seek but never find. A beautiful addiction...

Good work.

Yes, euphora! It fills us up to overflowing then spills across the floor. We can linger over the spillage or clean it up and wait anew. It's a drug that we always desire but the high never lasts.
