remind me/don't

remind me/don't

A Poem by Jake Martin

have you thought of all the things
as we float on by in a deep sleep
on and above the time that we took away

you make it hard for me to tell
if this is real of if i'm just drifting away
i hear your name and it rings a bell
but my confusion is set straight

have you thought of all the things
as we float on by in a deep sleep
on and above the time that we took away

and i forgot the way you love me
what if you came back and took the time just to remind me?
just to remind me

i'm not really here or alive
nothing else has been as real to me
leave it to the house keeper
and jealous love sick gardener
to break his back and return with an empty hand
