Lover

Lover

A Poem by ellemorell

I do feel like
I left a little
part of me behind
it’s true
that when I sit
and reconcile
in truth and nothing else
there’s you

I ponder this
In solitude
sometimes I
wonder if it’s real
it seems that
we exist in dreams
and stories
that I never tell

I can relate to both "main ideas." One being that lovers may take parts of us with them when they go, and the other is that an especially deep experience leaves you wi.dering what's real.

This is an amazing bit of nothing . . . you're not really saying ANYTHING . . . just planting ideas in the reader's mind, which explode into possibilities. I have never been able to write in such a nuanced way & I envy you for doing it so well! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Gee
Never, luckily, been in a relationship that has ended with my heart being broken, but am of the mind that there are plenty more fish in the sea :)
Well written piece

I'm not sure if this is a memory or wish
Or neither
Read a couple from you now
The rhyme rhythm and flow seem natural to you
Glad you found the strength to tell this story
Easy to read and enjoy

Has the sound of something that's officially over, but not really. Things deeply felt take time to make an exit.

sometimes telling the stories eases the pain...I found that true...
When I reconcile the truth there is you, and for me, others.
And I wonder if all of my relationships were just dreams...
I did not do them well, so no wonder I can't get much sleep now.
This poem made me look inside myself.
