A Poem by E. L. Foley
"

A call to reason.

"

Listen, we entreat,
listen, all ye patrons of Athene,
those who fall gracious at her feet,
those who compute Wisdom's mean.
Listen to us.

We have long gone before,
the silence of our bones will attest
our endless search for something more,
only in death has now found rest.
Listen to us.

Our names chiseled into cold stone,
our equations embalmed in ink,
knowing that each moment is a paltry loan,
we spent our lives to think.
Listen to us.

Listen to goddess Reason's call,
fear the trap of ignorance.
Do not live for the fall,
find the truth, not repentance.
Listen to us.
