Take back the tears

That you're trying to hide

Put on your makeup

To cover up the lies

 

People live easy, what can we say

Overcoming one pillar won't make more go away

I know you want to live, but you're caught in a cage

I know you want to live, you want to break away

But it seems that you can't because of your hate

I know you can’t now, but it's never too late

 

Pick up the pieces of your broken heart

This time, love didn't tear it apart

It'll end soon, it must end some day

Til then, we can only just hope and pray

 

Things look bleak now, they have for a while

And you find yourself crying, crying like a child

It does hurt deep down, there's a pit you can feel

And all of this pain, it seems so unreal

The yelling gets louder, there's more every night

And what can you do but give into the fight

Knowing nothing will come from retaliation

Resistance grows stronger with indignation

 

But I understand the way that you feel

I know this pain that seems so unreal

I'll give you my hand if you promise to fight

I'll take you away and into the night

Someday we will find each other when everything is right

 

So:

Gather your life, meager as it is

Live upon joy, rest upon this

If today you thought it all would end

Perhaps, tomorrow, we'll both find a friend
