Trust

This is the poem I wrote for an assignment that dealt with imitating the style of Emily Dickinson's "Hope is the thing with feathers" Please Review!

Trust is the thing with words -

That frees the heart and mind -

And tells a tale without a voice -

And never asks  - what time -

 

And furtive - in the Eye - is seen -

And keen must be the sense -

That could expose the secret Book

That held throngs in suspense -

 

I've kept it on the darkest night -

And in my times of need -

Yet - not once - in Adversity,

It spoke a word - of me.
