Echo Falls and Bon Iver

Echo Falls and Bon Iver

A Poem by Emily Cunningham
"

Speaks for itsef

"

“Stop drinking.”

“Stop sleeping with

men.”

Why?

To make it more of a

challenge?

To make it more interesting?

When you crack open the bottle?

When you pour me a glass?

When you take me upstairs

to your room and pop the

cork?

“Stay the night.”

Why?

So you can better watch me tiptoe out of your door

in nothing but your jacket?

I sneak back across the hall.

Don’t tell anyone.
