Finding Myself

Finding Myself

A Poem by emily joe
"

This is basically how I came to love myself again. In these very words, I was able to come to a point where I appreciated myself. Life is too short to be lost for too long. Enjoy!

"

I once believed in magic, in a world where grass grew green

I once lived in a fairytale, lullabies heard, and miracles seen

I once blew with the wind, fell with the leaves, and into love

I once picked flowers in an empty field, and kissed the clouds above

Until the day I lost myself, in a maze of hide n' seek

The glitter slowly faded, as I washed away like stones in a creek

I put away my smiles, and hid my hugs up on a shelf

You'll never truly live, until you've looked, and found yourself

Much truth here. Real magic doesn't exist unless it's crafted with care and time by real hands. Wonderful Ink with smooth and graceful rhyme and flow.

Two Thumbs Up!

Truly a lovely piece with a lesson on love and self-worth. I've always believed you don't know who you are until you lose and find yourself...

I think everyone experiences a point of loss of self at some point in their lives, it's always important however, to always remember to look, you can never find yourself if you never look.

Short, simple, and ultimately true! Too many people hide themselves and want to fall in with what the rest of the sheep in this world are doing. How are you supposed to appreciate the world through your own eyes if you can't appreciate yourself? This broad topic brings up many many questions: a sign of a well written poem. Niceeeeee dude.
