Not Enough in Me

Not Enough in Me

A Poem by Emily Robinson

This rain has been pouring on my face.
My words are falling to the floor
and pirouetting not unlike china
my words were meant for nothing more.

How I've longed for some better to say to you, for it's been so long since you've heard words of healing.

But with truth comes reality
and sometimes truth comes with a sting
so how can I serve you up with lies?
I've got to share what the truth brings.

How I've longed for something better than this to say to you for it's been so long since you've heard good news.

The rain's still pouring on my face
I wish to offer something more
But your reactions are no charade
because I'm not what you're looking for

I want to be something more than just a friend who's concerned but you know I'll never be enough to help you change

There is not enough in me
no there will never be enough
--to set you apart -- to set you free
Only Christ can do so much

I pray you'll let Him rule your life
and allow Him to be your only guide
for there is not enough in me
no there is not enough in me
