The Waiting

The Waiting

A Poem by Emily Robinson

A small breath whispers over the plains
a quiet peace that I cannot explain.
your sweet elusiveness holds me in suspense
I fear your answer will come all too soon;
and it may not be the answer I hope for.

Fear is my heart filled with.
For I am so captured by this waiting moment
strange it is that I long to know your reply,
and yet I fear it will not comply to my wishes.
But I know your answer will be just and right.

Your silence causes no pain.
but for what may come I cannot contain.
Lord prepare me in this waiting moment
as I await your plan for my life
give me strength to abide in you.
