Seul Par les Rues

Seul Par les Rues

A Poem by emipoemi
"

Ou ce que ça veut dire aimer vraiment;

********

True friends have come so often from the clouds,

Descending in a dance within the rain.

But with no place in our congenial heart,

Quite mute, quite pale, they’ll vanish in the crowds.

We know not how to rightly say goodbye
Or what it means to love and love in vain;

We’re merely as each living soul on Earth
Who lives as though forever high and dry.

With troubled souls, we roam the streets alone,

For having cast our heart into the drain,

And at all costs we want them to return

To feel once more those pleasures we had known.

Oh, oh, my dear, yes, we for love e’er search,

For we e’er leave each other in the lurch.

Beautiful! I can't really explain but the English version seems deeper though... Anyway good job! It's nice to see some French words here. :)

"Seul Par Les Rues"
emipoemi,
This is beautiful in french! Between the english and french the varient positions are somehow more fitting. Dark and light, heaviness of heart within but hope somehow waits:
"With troubled souls, we roam the streets alone, For having cast our heart into the drain, and at all costs we want them to return To feel once more those pleasures we had known."
You have shared a lovely and real depiction of the inner life between mind and heart.
Blessings,
kathy
