Them and Me

Them and Me

A Poem by emipoemi

They look at me and merely see
A white male trying hard to be
A name in this society
Of turmoil for diversity,
Of uproar for equality,
But they see not the inner me:
The double-edged identity,
The mished and mashed mentality,
The heart that loves wholeheartedly,
The soul that sings with sympathy.

Brilliant representation of the ugliness of superficiality. we sometimes judge others from our perspective, claiming the ultimate knowledge.. bad bad attitude.
