My Sanctuary

sometimes we meet someone for the briefest time, who touches our soul.

You walked with me

When I was lost.

Not  leading

But lighting my way

With your presence.

An emotional journey.

It wasn’t doors you opened,

But my mind.

You never tried

To give me answers

But allowed me

To find them myself.

I came to you

With no expectations,

Only boundaries.

I am still lost

But the honesty in your eyes

And the gentleness of your spirit

Allowed me finally

To trust

And gave me the strength

To believe in myself.

Two lives intertwined

For the briefest time.

The parting inevitable.

Now I will continue

This journey alone

And know

That a little bit

Of my happiness

Will always belong to you. x
