Broken Annotations

A Poem by Emma Marie Taylor

Her mind is the motive
and her thoughts are the knife

For her heart is a whirlwind
And the silence, her life
The sounds just keep going...
                                                             down

                                                                                    down

                                                                                                                  down.
The voices keep screaming going

now

now

now.

Her words are the evil
and her distance the good

They want to understand
but they never can
And she wants to tell them
But not like she planned

Because all of this is just a curse
Because explaining herself
will make everything worse

And she loves them but her mind is still reeling

Her thoughts are still screaming
her heart is still feeling

So her distance does the saving
because  her mind is misbehaving

And he asks her whats wrong
And they ask where she's gone

And she cant lift the cage
or start over, reverse

Because explaining herself
will only make everything worse

This is a very powerful and creative poem, which pulls in the readers, its as if this character is fighting inside of her head and is going to loose control one day, its really remarkable what you've done here Emma.
Keep writing like this, and I'm sure you'll be a great writer :)
