Synesthesia

Synesthesia

A Poem by Eric Pudalov
"

Inspired by feeling feverish...

"

writing in dElIrIuM

inspires the create-I've mind,

as perceptions are semi-

distorted-obj-

ects don't look

appropriate and lines are

blendingintoone

another...

somehow, in this dreamlike state

I remember how to write

poetically, translating the subconscious

into stanzas on the page-

the senses blurrifically

merge, hearing colors

speaking textures

in a synesthetic

song, playing on re-

peat repeat repeat

eateateateateat

yet I am

returning

ever so

slowly

to consciousness...

here.

This is magnificent, Eric! I love how you create a feeling of "delirium" right off the bat and then simmer it down into a calming sensation. Your words of choice paired with the fonts and line breaks really capture the concept of this piece. Brilliant work my friend, I loved it!

If your name were not attached to this my friend, I would have attributed it to E.E. Cummings with no hesitation whatsoever...I mean wow, this is Cummings all the way, from the wild font changes to the disproportionate line breaks to the repetitions of the central images, and so on. This is very much a throwback to the experimental years of the beatnik era, which I think of as the prog-rock of poetry haha ;) Very cool piece on many levels Eric :)

Thank you Anand! I hope to read some of your writing soon too.
Eric, dudeeee,.you wrote this while you were ill? Wow, you are so very talented. If I were to write anything when I was ill it would probably come out like Baa Baa Black Sheep, ahaha. I always have loved how you change the font of certain words. Makes it much more powerful....

dude this is fantastic. I loved it.
