loving without tech support

 

 

 

my spyware caught you with another

then my computer crashed, 

 

but the memory was saved

so i put you on a flash-drive

for safe-keeping

 

checked my file options---

you were deleted

so i rebooted

 

got a new version of windows

created a new folder, but

still saw you on the other side of the screen

 

and imagined the virus

was more detrimental to my hard drive

than i figured.

Another great write, Jacob.

A very original idea; comparing one's love relationship with modern technology. This is very well conceived.
Behind all the tech phrasing is a heartbreaking situation that some of us may encounter in our lifetimes, catching the object of our affection, in the arms of another, and attempting to save the memories of that failed relationship while later dealing with the "viral" effects that the failed relationship has had on oneself.
This is brilliant in its style, structure and original content.
Take a bow, Jacob. You have done it again. Another fantastic piece of writing.

The last time I tried to flash-drive I nearly ran my motorcycle off the road...poor frightened woman. In which case USB stood for unwanted sexual battery. It was all the fault of those cut-off jean shorts. I think she expected a hard drive more than a floppy disk.
