Now this is some senryu!
'poison confection' is just brilliant.

Was reminded of a Futurama episode where the main characters are condemned to 'death by snu-snu' by an alien race..

Sometimes we just have to take the plunge despite knowing it's hazardous.
'Poison confection' was a fantastic turn of phrase. Loved it.

thank you for your kind words, Zeitnot..

Literally, diabetics at their old age would say " I would rather taste all the sweets now and die happy, than to crave and die hungry and sad."
Figuratively, a person who is madly in love will take all consequences of choosing someone over great things and possibilities in his life. Some hearts dream only to die happy with their love one.

Well-done senryu. Thanks for the share.

Death by a lethal injection of love. At least, that's where this takes me.
