Filet Mignon

Filet Mignon

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Filet Mignon

Market Price Fool

cuts her heart with a fork

she renders tenders

helpless

but in her bones

the softness supplants itself

with sharp tactics

that cause him to

rethink the menu.

This woman's not what she first seemed. 'cuts her heart with a fork' and uses sharp tactics. Seems to me the dish of the day needs removing from the menu. Great work Jacob.

I have to agree with Verse. It feels like a long turn relationship gone bad.

Wow, can’t say I blame him... no one likes a schemer, not even one pretending to be a delicate filet mignon, :):)

Great work on this bittersweet moment.

Filte Mignon, Hmm. Tender, definitely expensive, but not necessarily as flavourful as other cuts. :))

Hmmm...don't always assume the filet mignon will be tender, eh? Some people put on a costume in the morning and we never can tell what lies under that costume. Always wise to stand back and watch. Great metaphor. Lydi**

the old adage ~ don't judge a book comes to mind... the insides and the outsides aren't always the same. What a secret mind we live in.

This woman sounds high class.
Maybe he's realised he's out of his depth.
Back to the Mcdonalds girl. Always worth the drive through.

you are so clever, your review is better than the poem.

Definitely one of your most playful extended metaphors! I love this one! We all think biting into the juicy steak of love will be as tender as a filet, but alas, it's usually much tougher! *wink! wink!* Fondly, Margie

Ah the disguise of pretending to be one thing and proving to be much different. Perhaps those bones should be tossed outside with the dog ;) wonderful reading your work as always Jacob :)
