I have been retired 4 yrs... but TIRED longer..ha..
Being relatively NEW (and bad) to writing poems
it seems (to most) .. I've only just begun..

At this time in life my sanity and intellect are moot
but I am having a hell of a good time anyway ...

Strange this should turn up, I was in an old folks club on Tuesday, they were all using crayons to draw.
Sort of weirdly freaked me out. Hopefully, I'll still be writing when I reach the old folks home.

retirement is not what it's cracked up to be, thank goodness we can write. Look at what's going on these days and there is ample reason for moot points, poetic or otherwise. Might as well be moot, no one is really listening. As far as incentive, I guess we make our own.

I know this is true, those 'sparse incentives', but for a poet are a poet's argument, ever moot???? do we go gently into the night??? or rail against the dying light??? may sound counter-intuitive, but Jacob I think that pen will be in your hands, writing and scribbling even after your heart stops beating... and as wonderful as reading your poems are now, I want to read those words too.... Mark Twain once said his death was highly exaggerated, but you Jacob will say, death cannot stop my metaphors from flowing....

I know, I know, my comments go way overboard (I'm a poet after all.. HA!) but I can't help myself as your poetry always takes me to far away places and adventures.... soooooo, it's all your fault Jacob... lol... ;0)
