A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

early guests

i saw a robin today

nibbling on a snowflake

shivering with anticipation...

Like how you tell a story/evoke a story in so few words. Nicely done.

thank you for your kind words, lynne.

So observant and speaks of a shortage of food for the birds. No fun in frozen breakfast when a nice juicy worm would be better. Soon the earth will exhale and the Robin will be happy. I love this one so much. Wonderful imagery.

I know. See what happens. I should be asleep!
You've conjured up the scene perfectly. A lot of us are anticipating warmer weather.

and they will certainly appreciate that...cheers,

dear Jacob... the Robins definitely have been in our yard
this Winter. Birds are thirsty and surely enjoy the frosty snowflakes...
just as we enjoy ice cream in winter. There must be global warming
to a certain degree. I remember in the fifties when I lived in Maryland
the Robins always arrived in late Spring.. The ponds would freeze over
and we would ice skate in Winter. Now there is hardly any freezing
ponds in Virginia or Maryland to skate upon. Love your sweet and caring poem.
truly, Pat
