Imagination's Tryst

Imagination's Tryst

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Imagination's Tryst

you were my middle-of-the-night write

i poemed you out of my dreams

until you lay next to me,

lines smiling,

rhymes holding me close

the rhythm of our hearts

beating free verse

i knew sooner or later

i would wake sweating from inspiration

and you would be an ephemeral thought

but as the night moved

my pen moved

and we were a moonlight theme

a creative cursive

so real

i caught the scent

of your ink

on my pillow.

beautiful piece of dream poetry, respect, I love the way the poem becomes more substantial and yet more ethereal, until only the scent of ink on the pillow remains

Oh this is wonderful!! How cathartic writing can be, to work someone or something on to paper. It can be such a healing process; but then to have it all laid out in black and white, right next to you there on paper. Really clever, I love this.

Utterly romantic
The beauty of what lies within ..... it shines through an experience
Between two - all that comes to the surface
Beautifies !!!

One of the beautiful things of poetry is writing it as we wish it to be. To experience it. A high that quickly deflates when we fall back to reality.

Now, this is the sort of Pen you want to wake up with.
The one that fits snugly in your jacket pocket.
It's when the pen runs out and the replacement just doesn't live up to the old one.

J., your poem is filled with sweet, “middle-of-the-night” words- wafting on the wings of a tender imagination, inspiration...a dream, a metaphor, a beautiful write of love. Our dreams often reveal us. Your ink here reveals a poignant vulnerability. I wish your dream to become your reality. Such a mesmerizing write my friend.
