Shore Life

Shore Life

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Shore Life

sand crabs

snapping quips

lover's snippets

arousal backwards crawling

passion nears the water

an ocean breeze

so suggestive

tingling within the shell

they blink

she nears

they touch salted youth

and then the moment

is over,

and they just

sit immobile again

waiting for the

next scent to

move their curiosity.

I could feel the breeze as well. I was really experiencing the sea.

All love!

thank you for your words, Vin,

What an interesting allegory!
It’s do descriptive and visual. I felt like a part of the scene while reading it.
Incredible work here.

good write. the highest and lowest life forms are related. i like the comparison. we're in the throws of summer heat and I have been to the beach observing what you so keenly describe although i wish a wave would wash some passion my way! i can't help but think of what 'curiosity' did to the cat ... :)

Fascinating lines and so visual. The moment doesn't last long but hopefully it was worth the effort. My mind wandered from crabs to people. That made me smile.

yes, people...they can be alike the two...
thank you, Chris,

Interesting allegory...sand crabs approach then dash back...when you turn away they return.
Passion comes then wanes...much like the waves sweeping in then retreating...and the warm air...hot sand and cool water combine for a sensory overload and the only thing untouched are the crabs.

We're heading back to the Outer Banks in Sept. Haven't been in three years...looking for more inspiration.

This is one of your great pieces Jacob. I can see the scene on the shore line, I can almost feel the breeze and smell the salt as this allegory so well describes the dance of two crabs.

the continuance of desire set in motion by the stir of passion is exhilarating . For the wax and wane of passion, one just has to wait patiently on It shores. Still the waiting is worth it.

These lines conjour up a lot of emotions and thoughts. I take them into the sea side scent and absorb and other instances that comes to mind - be it human emotions and actions. Good selective write!
