can we trust the print

can we trust the print

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

can we trust the print

cobwebs between the binders

enclosing love

pages of unmeant tenders

as her heart begins to rove

he will dust off the cover

of a title once discarded

read this other

with eyes more guarded

Cobwebs between the binders
Enclosing love

Reminds me of a few books I have old worn from my grandfather to his first wife with writing on the first page dated 1915 when they were courting

Well done your poetry is. Beautiful

Trust the print, dust off the cover of a once discarded title with eyes less guarded, your poetry is constantly amazing, thanks, j.

I'm reminded of starting & discarding a book that felt incomprehensible or uninteresting the first time thru, but then much later on, trying again, it snags the attention fully. Great metaphor for people we pass by at first, then come to realize are amazing souls (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

dear Jacob... we have wooden geisha fan shutters above our bed...
it lets the sun peek in and the moon shine in at night. It knows a lot of secrets
so I keep the blinds shut... when life gets tough. Sleeping until the

yes, lots of secrets uncovered by that sly moon.
That we do Jacob. The heart and mind may forgive, but would put a herd of highly sceptical and suspicious elephants to shame in what cannot be forgotten. It becomes part of the fabric of the US that is now, taking it with us, intended or not, into any future relationship. Suspicious minds affects us all, whether it is our past or theirs, their ghosts are always in the machine.
This is only my opinion and not advice from someone who is perfectly aware that I am ignoring all those who are ignoring me in the first place. I just tell myself it's because I'm just too stunning for them to notice. Well, it's better than crying myself to sleep 😀
