Keepsake

Keepsake

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Keepsake

angry skin reacts

from abrasive touch

even though a soft heart

embraces the pain,

with abiding love

the nature of unselfishness

comes at a cost

a bruise, a fall

a life

angry skin reacts

because it understands

no amends can be made

for what won't mend

compliance of a pliant will

and acid acrimony

toward matrimony

leaves one

angry skin remembers

even as the worms nestle close

to the skeletal finger

still wearing the ring

that came at such a cost.

sheesh ..strong emotive tragedy .. damn! i use to completely ignore bumps bruises abrasions ... cuts .. hammerings insults and injury .. but my skin has gotten to where it does not want any more pain .. it cringes at the thought ... retracts from any source .. and makes me cry ;))))
well done says i .. stark, clear imaging .. i feel this one deeply .. i want to perform a grave side release ceremony or something ... this one is going to cling to me a while me thinks ..

Hard, honest and direct words. I did like them.
"angry skin remembers
even as the worms nestle close
to the skeletal finger
still wearing the ring"
The above lines. I have known and thank you Jacob for sharing the amazing poetry.
