a place for us

a place for us

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

a place for us

roughly speaking,

i want to hear your tender tenders

whispered to me gently

my reply a raspy kiss

a slow cough of love

even when i cover my mouth

unsaid is said

over is over

and beginnings long

for the chance

                               to stay

where you are.

there always seems to be this elemental sadness in your wonderful poetry, but you do wear it well, another great read

Life takes us from one end of the spectrum to the latter end and how we like the to rerun the beginnings.

It is the unsaid which can have most impact. So important is communication in relationships. Hold back and it could be at your peril. Misunderstandings happen so easily. "where are you?" You have lost her already. I also thought of that wonderful movie West Side Story. Saw it when I was 16. That's where I went with this one Jacob.

This immediately took me to West Side Story and "Somewhere (There's a Place for Us)". In this is a deep sadness as even in later life with raspy, wheezing breaths we long for love and to return to the youth we once knew for the love we once knew and felt!

The unsaid is often said, true enough. Thing is, when it comes to relationships, communication is the key. Without it, that cough could be just a cough. No one can be sure. Lydi**
