drowned in oxymoron

drowned in oxymoron

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

drowned in oxymoron

without parasol,

barbaric tenders

downy kisses in torrential storm

lightning arms surround

with intensely gentle caress

we loved into the tempest

and came out of the other side

with an angry touch

of sun

our feelings burnt to a crisp

regretting the abrupt ending

of the severe rain

we had embraced

for a decade's short breath.

"Sun so high, I froze to death"--or, at least, got sopped.
A most clever creation!

thank you for your words, FJ,

So many songs come to mind... We've had them ALL in our time - ya know? And they were real - as real as the emotions we lived through - real to our times, our existence, all the way to now. I'm having other thoughts wanting to be written down but don't have the heart to want to ...right now.

amen to what you said, Chris..we had them all, and we remember them all,
thanks,
j.
Relationships are strange sometimes, thriving in dark tempests, roughing stormy weathers and losing steam as soon as the storms abate and the light dawns upon them. I appreciate your words very much dear Jacob.

Drowning in Oxymoron, indeed!

There is such sweet suffering in relationships. As you wrote, we love into the tempest and we often come out burned on the other side. No amount of lathering in SP50+ emotional protection can save us from the scorching sunburn and pain thereafter.

A bittersweet write, Jacob. Lovely use of metaphor and well and truly written with a broken heart on your sleeve.

Romance is bittersweet or rather sweet and then bitter. Fantastic work in metaphor, Jacob:)

' .. we loved into the tempest ~ and came out of the other side ~ with an angry touch ~ of sun .. '

Oxymoron (s) indeed but as always, so finely used.. applied.. created. Whilst you use knowledge of grammar, form and language here.. you still end up with emotions felt and shared. I'm in awe. :)

" … a decade's short breath … " a love too-soon ended, abruptly, burned. Passion is a flame that always seems to burn out.
