Lost

Lost

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Lost

twilight twitter

twixt texts

the real feelings

felt

felonious, fractured

when fingers feel the keys

corrupt the core

of what innately,

intricately

inspires

Love.

thank you, Julie..

We are losing the ability to communicate directly on a face to face basis. So involved are we with technology, pressing keys instead of talking to people, I wonder where it will lead? Some might say lost opportunities for love, younger people might disagree. It seems many younger people find love online.

Great alliteration. You are giving Bunny some serious competition here Jacob.

Yes, modern technology leaves love the worse for wear. Loved the alliteration here.

This triggers thoughts of on line dating where only the good is on show, a somewhat false misinterpretation.

Wow I love this:) and I hate the truth of it makes me sad when our representations of cyber presences become more important than our actual presence:( I’m lucky in that realm I have many live actual customers that can’t order there meals or buy an antique without human interactions and I will not serve a customer whilst twittering in twitches taking my time:/ love this poem tho:)

We've lost a lot--especially, to AI.
But, of course, it began much earlier. The TV and telephone quickly replaced
neighbors, friends and family conversing, for much of the evening, on porches
or front steps. In Winter, folks regularly had "company" over.
An excellent, sad and timely poem, J!

Sad that it often takes a tragedy to bring us back to "normal."
Great story, Jacob!
‘Twilight twitter twixt texts’ ~ interesting sounding words. Twitter is banter and too much of it takes away from the real thing to be said. Feeling are lost in a flurry of texts. It’s so common nowadays...
