Early part of the previous century, consumption took a lot of people.
Don't believe it was the Black Widow variety, however.
Small poem with a big wallop!

I bet he wishes he hadn't aroused that spark. Nothing like the roar of a scorned woman. I can see him retreating from the heat and quickly. Don't play with fire. You could get burned :)

thank you for your words, Chris...
In some situations, we either consume or get consumed. To me this seems a war of wills with an obvious victor. A woman scorned is to be feared.

Funny that! And Nice brevity to capture the moment!

Nice brevity J, reminds me of a praying mantis having a beer with the caption " Might as well have another one, she's going to bite my head off anyway when I get home". This comment is for immovable feasts one. My computer froze on this site again!

yes, my friend, yes.
I know you always say, that you write and the reader interprets... true enough I think, so as I read this senyru I thought, aaah Death, a woman.. then again it could be Love where even with decline, resistance is futile.... once again your words capture us 'poor, innocent' readers which is exactly what good art does, consuming us with feelings...
