A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

perseverance

the moon will never go away
even when it seems three quarters
of the whole are missing
the heart will never go away
even when it seems three quarters
of the whole are ____

And now we know why the heavens above are relevant not only to scientists.

Well said.

Wonderful! Yes, the moon is here to stay and our hearts, even when broken into many pieces, seem to recreate themselves in the right circumstances. Lydi*

What at first glance seems reassuring is somewhat less so on reconsideration. Sure, it's nice to know the whole moon's still there when you can see only a fourth of it. When the heart, meaning the feelings, seems that empty, though, you are in considerable emotional pain. I mean dumped, rejected, kicked to the curb pain. Don't even ask about a total eclipse.

You're welcome Jacob and blessings to you.
So true. So very true. Just when you think there's not much left, it comes back around again, lush and full. Such a simple, yet poignant piece. Loved it!

Lovely imagery of a crescent moon. When you can't see it, it is hiding. It is always there. Same as the heart when it is dying. You can't see it, but you can certainly feel it. When you are a shadow of your former self, you are still there. That's when you have to dig in deep and that's when you have to persevere and not give in. And that is tough.

Well, if it is full moon, the wolves will be out.
I love the analogy. How the heart can go through phases like the moon, through lighted regions and darkened ones. Sir, you come up with wonderful ideas and analogies.

Muchly welcome sir and humbly.
I love how your poem harkens to the way people need to be loved even when they're not "all there" . . . how you encourage us to include the dark side as an integral part of the brightness we love to adore. So much emotional intelligence in so few words! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
