Can't Keep it in

Can't Keep it in

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Can't Keep it in

loose words,

a diarrhea of diction

worn like a diadem

a jeweled crown of poetic thorns

thrust upon a bloody page

where roses once bloomed

but now lie in unwieldy pieces,

petals placed in disarray

perfectly.

a very profound & succinct way of expressing dissatisfaction of public comments.. from everyone politicians, journalistic media, social media & general conversations.
this applies to all negative comments & not just the current news i think.

re the c.virus , personally i would prefer to read more happy positive media facts, they always talk about how many people have died from the c.virus & never about how MANY people recover compared those who don't.
anyway just my opinion.

I agree, carola, we need more positives right now....everything is doom and gloom.

Can't keep it in - Cat Stevens

All the rubbish being spewed out at the moment, a constant stream of it feeding terror everywhere. I am not playing down the seriousness at all, but it needs to be toned down or else there will be an epidemic of mental health problems as well. Perfectly pitched Jacob.

Don't recall ever seeing diarrhea and Christian symbolism together in the same work. Seems to reflect dissatisfaction with current work. I'd say stay away from spicy stuff and let the words flow as they will. They'll coagulate sooner or later.

The diarrhea of diction seems to be the only thing that is outracing this virus and between the do nothing...unless I get my way... politicians who are busy holding up the aid the countries desperately need and the media enablers of all types who encourage this action, it's no wonder the world is in a panic.
This virus moves like a wildfire.
There should be a 24 hour moratorium on the number of cases and deaths recorded. Neither of which is the worst the world has seen. Tone the rhetoric down and give the people a chance to breath.

Wow, talk about loose words.

Good one j.

My own "diarrhea of diction" occurs as a response to the upside-down madness we're living in. In some of my recent poems I only wanted to drown out the din of complaining, lecturing, judging, criticizing & attacking . . . pouring my flowery rhyming drivel around myself like a shield (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

i think our drivels make pretty good shields.
thank you, Margie.

In times such as these when people are anxious to hear words of wisdom and comfort from a leader, we get twisted facts and meaningless dribble. Your words here are powerful and cut to the core. "Where roses once bloomed" made me think of past leaders who talked with intelligence and substance. This could be coming from my own state of mind but your poem really spoke to my heart. Simply wonderful write, Jacob.

love the closing ... in disarray perfectly ... https://youtu.be/R21EU8SKUM0 ... i read your poem as a poet whose talents lay dying ... so many attempts to pour it out resulting in the runs ;) catchy title ... opening one liner hits me with power ... its dispersed .. but powerful .. so many ways kinds and means of loose words ...universal application ... one of your top poems says i ... really good "stuff"!

In war, you need leadership. We have bumbling Boris here. I read that the Italian leader has thrown the country to the mercy of God, also not good. Is Trump any better. Draconian measures, not the western way, but hey, coffins piling up because the doctors have to decide who lives. Who could have envisaged that a week ago.

Whoa... perfectly poignant... Petals orchestrated
on a Pipe Organ of destiny... where stained glass windows reflect
Saints who passed too soon... with Lambs sacrificed in fields of green.
It is all a bad dream. truly, Pat

at first I thought of Cat Stevens.... hey, have you ever tried keeping a cat indoors? but then, I did not have to flex my mental muscle too hard to see beyond the reflex and let it all out... somethings just have to be said... and said out loud and wrapped in a scream.

Stay safe and well over there Jacob.. it is gonna get an awful lot worse methinks sir, before it gets better... tis after all a wild world and never been wilder.... How did I get back to Cat Yusuf Islam Stevens eh'
