in the Court of the Aqua King

in the Court of the Aqua King

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

in the Court of the Aqua King

mutiny on the bountiful
ship of strawberry supposition

the facts are missing
but he knew they were there
he rolls the crystal ball through his fidgety fingers

the crew is dissenting
unrelenting
the waves are crashing
against states of turbulence

he's shouting
nobody's listening
loyalty is overboard

it's lonely ship
of bountiful boasting
with no crew left
to sail it,

a captain
alone
and now as blue as the sea.

still boasting
to a few passing
seagulls laughing.
and crying all at once.

Wow!! sir I really want to take lessons on poetry from you ... You are really great sir...
I am stunned to take a dive in your deep ocean of words arranged so beautifully.
The facts are missing , but he knew they were there... is really a hard truth...
great!!

Oh excellent Jacob although I kept thinking of King Crimson. Extraordinarily well put together of meangful and layered words and phrases. some of which I wish I had written. Ship of Strawberry supposition.
I feel there are other, perhaps political angles to this but can I just enjoy it for what I read and in the way I read it?
Great. Hope you are well my friend also.

Quite funny which buttons your poems press
Not really caring much about politics, and tho' the words don't lead anywhere near,
this had me thinking about strawberry shortcake drowned in a sea of whip cream!
Now I'm hungry

This little write Jacob takes me straight to the politics of the USA. All I could see is your President. Seagulls laughing and crying all at once. That is such a powerful image, one that is quite haunting. A most unsettling poem.

The aqua king sounds like he's full of hot water...or at least up to his neck in it. But we know a good captain always goes down with his ship, mutiny or no. Great metaphor as usual.

Hmmm...don't know whether I'm at the produce aisle or next to Mr.Christian or talking to an old man at a wedding about a particular albatross or standing next to Barbossa or Jack Sparrow. Then again there is always the Ishmael to consider and the Narcissus as well... Perhaps all of them at once and still yet another...as waves clatter the vessel from bow to helm. Well written Mr.J..thoroughly enjoyed it!

I have a feeling that particular ship is taking on water faster than the captain realizes. I wonder if he'll notice when the rats start leaving. Bug then, there are so many of them he probably won't notice.
