Ageing maybe difficult at times with the elements especially those with arthritis /rheumatism..but also there is a sense of calm in growing older and wiser and perhaps a sense of pride in achievements/ accomplishments and though still learning as we always do there’s a lot more to give or
leave with/ to others gifts of
experience etc. I loved this thought provoking piece j.
Kind regards Katrina :)

Ageing can be beautiful...if we learn to take the gold and leave the chaff....I appreciate this so much, it really resonates with me...

Once upon a yesterday we could rake up huge piles of leaves and run and jump into them before they were burned ... can't do that these days ... too much CO2.
The autumn of our years is a time of reflection and a touch of regret ... just happy to be here to appreciate them.

thank you for your kind words, Ted,

Everybody will have the "autumn" part in his life. Just as beautiful as those autumn leaves, life is at its best when one has lived it to the fullest.
Unsure of what will happen after this pandemic, I just wish, though my dreams are in a pause for now, I can still achieve it on my target time before I grow old.

Crunching autumn leaves can be so beautiful, even with burning toes and criss-cross veins. The riot of matured hues is amazing and there all shades of unique. Senescence is gold.

spring sees me read a
colorful autumn haiku
better than i do

Haha - I love haiku and can barely write any. Yours is full of sound, color and touch. I like it - it's a piece I have to read several times and I like that, too. I think the "veins" are in both the leaves and the feet stepping on them. I know you invoke fire with that word "burnt." And there just seems to be a mystery here, but it doesn't leave me "ambivalent." I'm too curious for that. Thanks for the poem!

I think this one is stumping more than myself Jacob, but I keep being drawn back to it like the last puzzle in a crossword and will be back when that welcome click of clarity returns, with not so much a eureka moment, but more of an "Ahh!" as the light bulb above my head reconnects 😀
