A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

turning

i am fitfully disengaged

touched you once

i'm sure,

my heart and yours rubbed elbows

and sentiments

and impediments

now suffer us to impart

love

like twin peaks

calling out in echo

i do so love you

even when you are snow capped

in frigid abandonment

even when you are shrouded

in a mist of tense awareness

listening

to your past as it climbs the elevation

of most stringent sorrow

fitfully disengaged

i now touch the sun

in the morning

where you once glistened

at the apex

of our climb

do you hear me scream

hoping your voice will join

we made harmony a heightened moment

smile once more for me

rainbows may still dance above

those peaks,

i am sure.

We do seem to have asoft spot for that love malarkey, despite all the pain it has brought us, we run to it like white on rice and forget all of its previous head on crashes.
But who can complain about something that still makes your pen dance across the page so effortlessly.

thank you for your kind words, Lorry,

LOVE this! How romantic, the love longs to stay but is but in sorrowed memory now, hoping to recapture what was at time one would climb mountains for. ...hopefully the rainbow will come out as to reign as lovers once again and forever. @'/:o)

Beautiful Jacob
Love is like that
Drifting - going only to come back
Much like the sea
It can't be contained neither fully set free

Lovely piece !!

This is hauntingly beautiful Jacob. It's both romantic and nostalgic and the feeling it bestows is both tender and intense. The longing between the lines is palpable. A great read this morning.

' .. smile once more for me - rainbows may still dance above - those peaks, - i am sure.'

Whatever love from the past, whatever the emotions involved in the sharing and delight.. the loss and sadness.. there are those inevitable thoughts - yours, beautiful - that slide the writer and his enchanted readers into the vagaries of that memorable relationship.

You are the Sir Edmund Hillary of love here, J! Climbing those peaks of the past for just one more glimpse of all that once was. It's a beautiful idea and one that is very romantically expressed and poignant, too. Just goes to show the lengths many of us will take to chase our precious rainbow. For like the phenomenon itself, they are few and far between but oh so memorable! This is a precious poem, dear J. Loved the sentiments here and the carried metaphor, as always. Much enjoyed! :)))
