A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

turning

i am fitfully disengaged

touched you once

i'm sure,

my heart and yours rubbed elbows

and sentiments

and impediments

now suffer us to impart

love

like twin peaks

calling out in echo

i do so love you

even when you are snow capped

in frigid abandonment

even when you are shrouded

in a mist of tense awareness

listening

to your past as it climbs the elevation

of most stringent sorrow

fitfully disengaged

i now touch the sun

in the morning

where you once glistened

at the apex

of our climb

do you hear me scream

hoping your voice will join

we made harmony a heightened moment

smile once more for me

rainbows may still dance above

those peaks,

i am sure.

We thaw a frigid love, we unravel its mysteries, we chase it when it’s elusive and climb the tallest mountain for a glimpse of it. And then we rejoice in its smallest joyful moments.

I think the smallest moments are usually the best...

I think these lines really stand out. They paint such a vivid and beautiful picture. Love poems are really hard for me to write and I'm trying to learn from poets like you who write them so effortlessly. :))

I echo Ms. Chris in appreciating these words sir,

i do so love you
even when you are snow capped
in frigid abandonment

Thats is the best kind of love. It doesn't wait for the sun to shine. It srtives to stay warm without it.

My pleasure ...
Incredibly beautiful poem of a past love.

I do so love you
even when you are snow capped
in frigid abandonment

I had a really powerful image of a mountain peak so out of reach. Isolated and cold.

smile once more for me
rainbows may still dance
above the peaks

Ever hopeful

A poignant write. Touched me to the core. You at your best my dear friend.

Chris
