Cries in between the Lines

Cries in between the Lines

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Cries in between the Lines

poems with undertones

of overtones

of defecting tones

of infecting tones

of treble tones

of bass tones

of tones of tonic comfort

of tones of toxic unease

of ringtones

of placating tones

of the irritable tones toning up the rhetoric

of ambivalent tones torn in melodic dilemma

of apathetic tones suggesting

poems with undertones

may never be read...

because no one is listening to the poets

they are all turning a deaf eye.

..................... Oh' yes indeed sir... this is a nail/head job and bloomin true... and as we all know only too well, turning a deaf eye blindly can have serious global repercussions that leave a nasty taste in one's mouth

always a pleasure and invariably mine..
We all may be misunderstood and misheard at times Jacob, but imagine a world where nothing is ever read a second time and thonk of the loss of those beautiful moments we find some new dimension or layer to a piece that wasn't seen the first time round. What a hollow world that would be.
An artist is an artist, no matter what the audiences capture or miss. It is why I like to add to my reading list and only review when I am in my reviewing zone. Otherwise, it would only ever feel like a review of my mood and not the writers point.
Maybe as useful as a "hey, great write" review.
But apart from that, hey great write Jacob 😀

Aye poetry is scoffed at but who doesn't love music with great lyrics. What is the difference. Who was Bob Dylan !

But I can listen to all the tones that this write plays. I think it's better to have no one listening to the poets if those no ones are deaf eye. Poets of different tones deserve all the lights and only few have that eyes and ears who hunt for them to listen to them and to look up to them.
I don't know about others, but I have surely opened my eyes and ears to feel this poetry.

thank you for your understanding words, moog-drika.

And then there are poems and poets that are tone deaf, ambivalent to a fault neither for or against, just want what they want to hear. (I might be guilty but it still has yet to be proven in a court of law)

I love, love, love this, Jacob! I have thought so many times that poetry is not as well appreciated as other types of genres. You bring that home exquisitely in this poem. Keep up the great work. I always enjoy your incredible poetry.

A sad comment on the art of poetry! Why is poetry so misunderstood?? so "deaf to the eye"? (my favorite line;) It doesn't matter which tone it is, it's still not appreciated. But at the CAFE, all of them are! I like how you "played " with the word TONE; A magnificent write; be happy, I loved it!

A poet's ode to grief, of the death of the poet, so touching, and crafty. Heartfelt and clever.

Even when they are read, nobody tries to understand, most just say “I don’t get it, can you explain this to me.” You are so clutch...if I had to put the last poem of all time on someone’s shoulders, it may be you. I think you would be up to it.

' .. apathetic tones suggesting - poems with undertones - may never be read... ... because no one is listening to the poets - they are all turning a deaf eye.'

How sad you should feel like that, j., and more than likely not what you want to admit to, you the poet of poets. Seems so many people find it takes time to understand the motion of poetry, whatever its genre - fair enough, not everyone can dance! Like so many 'things' what isn't understood in seconds is passed by. TIL NOW.. when something new or forgotten is waiting for someone to turn a page and read what you and others inspired can write with such a magical quill! (Had to add that last word, seemed appropriate!)

You've used thoughts and words so cleverly, so unusually, thank you, sir. Take care, keep safe. Please
