she lies effectively

and he accepts her truth

efficiently

her eyes wander

while his close

 

the new touch

an old feel

 

he has no issues of trust

she's his back turned

when it must.

This reminds me of an Eagles song. I think it's called Lyin' eyes.
Sometimes you get comfortable and turn a blind eye to certain things.

He's burying his head in the sand. Maybe he knows through experience that if he looks for trouble he's going to get plenty of it. His approach won't work. Give someone enough rope and eventually.........

A new type of love is blind. This guy is protecting his feelings. Closing his eyes and mind deliberately.
