A Benjamin Button's Wish

A Benjamin Button's Wish

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

 A Benjamin Button's Wish

some days i feel older than earth

and a love that could move mountains

only i am in a state

where there are but hills

and even those i am incapable

to climb

until juvenescence finds me again.

Gee
But would you wish to be Benjamin in these again looming lockdown times. Even at my age having my wings clipped and being dictated to puts a downer on life. Must be an absolute nightmare for the younger folk.
Good morning Jacob, hope all is well with you

you have a great point there, Gee.
i would have to rethink that.

Oh my aching knees
just to get up the hill
when you're already over
the hill..no more mountains
to conquer eh?

think many can relate
to the slow down aging
process..but in all reality
would we really want to
age backward Ben Buttons
or be Forever Young..
different movie
nice write

Sometimes they say - all you need is a will.
Where there's a will there's a way, so not to lose hope.
Nice reading and wishing well. Wishes do come true :)

I suppose a wish would be if you can’t go to the mountain bring the mountain to me! Yes everything becomes harder and much bigger as we slow down to a snail’s pace. Clever writing as usual.reminds off Neil Armstrong’s one small step for.......

I'd forgotten all about Benjamin Buttons
This will prompt me to be reacquainted
I have to admit, those little hills seem to keep on growing

thank you, Dave,

Indeed we would all wish the metabolic clock ran in reverse Jacob. I guess the secret is to accept life's latter years with grace, looking for the nuggets of satisfaction and the motivation to keep shifting mountains. Allegorical brilliance as always in such a brief and emotion filled piece.
