Intellection

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Intellection

a penchant for flirting

a whimsical pendant

you wear around my neck

you have me tucked

between your heart and heaven

a predicament that enfolds me

sedentary within my breast

you are the pulse

that registers within my pen

i write against the backdrop

of your eyes

keyboard lashes

gently brush my cheek

there are letters for the taking

you offer me your poem

and i kiss it gently

within the reason of us.

There is no better reason than the 'reason of us'
Love is such a fickle creature ... she comes ... she goes ... dipping her toes in your heart ... drawing blood ever so gently, but drawing blood nonetheless ...when she strikes we can only hold tight and enjoy the ride.

I quite like this one j.

thank you for your kind review, Ted,

Be honest John, this is way beyond flirting! This is truly an open-hearted expression of love and I'm all for it.

Take care and love wisely - Dave

A predicament yet a beautiful one! I read this as a flirty, whimsical love yet one that expands to fill your heart and spills till the heaven itself dear Jacob. Driving your heartbeat, quill and soul!

This is successfully getting her skin tight leather trousers off without using words that aren't in the dictionary. (Do we still use dictionaries) The pulse and the pen, beating together in harmony the way it should be.

Do like the old Thesaurus, still does it job.
Nice to see this wind of change slip into your writing Jacob. A truly romantic piece of metaphor with your usual amazing and novel array of gold nuggets.

This is simple, fresh, & romantic! Despite my usual jadedness about romantic poems, I found myself going a little entranced by visualizing what you describe here (((HUGS))) Fondly Margie

Definitely a poem of devotion to your muse; when she offers up her bountiful gifts one must always be grateful and acknowledge her as the goddess she truly is. For quite often she is a jealous goddess who wields all power over those who do not obey. It's a lovely dedication and one I am sure your muse would accept gratefully. A fine addition, Jacob. 💛
