a today out of all the yesterdays

a today out of all the yesterdays

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

a today out of all the yesterdays

the memory of you

is quilted within my heart

a warmth stitched into

the fabric

of my being

frayed over time

but still interred

within the urn of years

those with you,

and now those without you.

This is exquisite Jacob. So much warmth and quilts are old fashioned. They are also beautiful and take an age to stitch together. Patchwork memories. It has a maternal feel about it, but also reminds me of my grandmother.

thank you for relating to this, Chris...
I bet your grandmother was a wonderful woman.

The fabric of memories changes over time until they hang together as a thread. Quilts made from wool were so common, the in thing in my Grandma’s day. Not fashionable by the young these days. Fine writing J.

A Guilt stitched together with fond memories
when you were snuggled in colors of love...
A different scene in every square... frayed and
laid upon with tender repose... when rain was
music of tin roof melodies... embroidered with
silken threads of pleasures spent when feelings
were embraced in moonbeams... tenderly, Pat
