Choosers

Choosers

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Choosers

Magdalene
at the scene
a Mary of ill repute
hugging the virgin with tears

forgiveness hung on that crucifix
three hours of dark rain
washing the feet of conscience
the world nailed to his hands

the crown
on the bleeding
soul of man
stained the heart's future

those beggars knew the score
but for them, like us
it's too late
we have tied ourselves
to our own crosses

facing away.

well done ..the tragedy of choosing to turn away from such profound show and tell from God the Creator .. Jesus, God become man so we would see and hear physically and then Spiritually the need for forgiveness and the love that gives it to us. No other name is given to us, even today, by which we must be saved. All others call themselves prophets or teachers of the Way .. Jesus said "I am the Way..." .. well said, jacob .. perfect for Easter time ..

thank you, E.
j.
we have tied ourselves to our own crosses

We have a habit of doing that to ourselves don't we? And instead of being kind to ourselves we beat ourselves up.

This poem speaks to me in a huge way of being forgiving and kind to all beggars and Kings alike, just like Jesus did. If only all Christians were more like Him.

Then that is their loss :)
This is toughie, but I would say that Mary was not the angelic figure that many think; I also believe that many who profess to be Christ worshippers are sinners themselves, and lastly, many of us are not believers, and we have” tied ourselves to our own crosses, facing away” meaning that we are bearing our own problems in our own non religious way.....we don’t believe in heaven and hell....we live our lives as best we can, day to day, choosing our own spiritual values.......
Since I am a non believer, this is my take!
Easter is around the corner! I hope I didn’t offend you J....
Best to you Easter or not,
B
