Acrimonious Poet

Acrimonious Poet

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Acrimonious Poet

unleashed arrogance

the superior race

with checkered intelligence

wrought with deflated understanding

love loses in off-track betting

compassion blows its engine

on the white flag's last lap

as confederate standing

is left ripped in the pits

the crew, all Jews,

sets fire to the tires

of bigotry

and something stalls

before the finish line

but somehow still exists

enough to cross

coasting in blissful ignorance.

Not sure about this one J, but bigotry is ugly. Anyone who believes they are part of a superior race is sadly deluded in my opinion. In fact anyone who thinks they are superior to anyone else is also deluded. We are all equal though some seriously believe they are more equal than others. Only when everyone accepts equality and lives by it, will the world become more peaceful. Please excuse my drifting thoughts.
